What is Giclée?

Giclée (pronounced "Jee-Clay") printing first appeared in the mid eighties. A process where minute drops of paint are precisely deposited onto a paper or canvas surface which has been treated with a substrate. This process, selecting from millions of available hues, gives incredible saturation, colour depth and accuracy, producing a print that exactly captures the tone and content of the original. Giclée printing was soon widely adopted for reproducing the best of art, both contemporary and past.
